Privacy Policy
Who we are and what this policy covers
Purple Line Pty Ltd (ACN 147 825 250) of 13 Indian Drive, Keysborough VIC 3173 (Purple Line, we, us) trades as OPUS Camper and operates www.purpleline.com.au and www.opuscamper.com.au. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. It applies across our websites, showrooms, trade shows, and phone and email dealings.
What we collect
Information you give us: your name, contact details, delivery address, order and payment details, finance-related details where we assist with a finance referral, information you provide when registering, subscribing, requesting support or making a warranty claim, and anything else you choose to give us. Information collected automatically: IP address, approximate location, browser and device details, referral source, and how you use our websites. Trade account applicants: business details, trade references and credit information (see Credit reporting below).
How we use it
To supply and deliver products and services, process payments, administer orders, accounts and warranty claims, respond to enquiries, assess which products suit your needs, improve our websites and service, send service communications about your order, and — with the ability to opt out at any time — send marketing about our products. We use secure, privacy-compliant third-party tools, including artificial intelligence systems, to help with customer service and operational improvement, with information de-identified where practicable.
Who we disclose it to
We disclose personal information, only as needed for the purposes above, to: delivery carriers and logistics providers; payment processors and financial institutions; our customer relationship, email and website service providers; finance providers where you ask us to refer you; our insurers and professional advisers; manufacturers for warranty support; and government bodies where required by law (including vehicle registration authorities). We do not sell personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including the United States, where our customer relationship and marketing platform (HubSpot), our business systems (Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) and our AI service providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) host or process data. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Credit reporting (trade accounts)
If you apply for a trade credit account, we may collect credit information about your business and its guarantors, obtain credit reports from a credit reporting body, and disclose information about your application and payment history to that body as permitted by Part IIIA of the Privacy Act. Details of the credit reporting body we use are set out in our trade credit application and are available from us on request. You may request a copy of their credit reporting policy, ask us not to use your credit information for pre-screening, and place a ban period on your file if you believe you are a victim of fraud.
Direct marketing
We only send marketing where you have opted in or would reasonably expect it, and every marketing message includes a working unsubscribe. You can also opt out at any time by contacting us; opting out does not affect service messages about an order in progress.
Cookies and online advertising
Our websites use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, measure performance and show advertising based on your interests. You can control cookies through your browser and opt out of personalised advertising through the platforms’ own tools; some site features may not work without cookies.
Security and retention
We hold personal information in access-controlled systems, use reputable providers with appropriate safeguards, and limit access to staff who need it. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above and for legal, warranty and accounting requirements, then delete or de-identify it. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Access, correction and complaints
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us below; we will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge for making a request. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first and we will investigate and respond within 30 days.
